Dr. Christensen has a bachelor’s degree from Brigham Young University and his medical degree from the University of Virginia School of Medicine.  He received internship training in Pediatrics and residency training in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology, and served as a flight surgeon, Chief of Primary Care, and director of autopsy and blood banking at various Army posts. After leaving the Army in 2000, he did a fellowship in forensic pathology and legal medicine at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Richmond, Virginia.  He has worked full-time as a forensic pathologist in Virginia, South Carolina and Utah.  In July 2016, he was appointed Chief Medical Examiner for the state of Utah.  He is board certified in Anatomic, Clinical and Forensic Pathology and is a fellow of the National Association of Medical Examiners and the American Academy of Forensic Sciences.
