Hospital evacuation has received significant attention in recent years. While most evacuation plans share common elements, there are some simple strategies that are frequently overlooked. This session will address some of these issues and provide practical guidance that will help improve your preparedness. 

Objectives:
1.    Identify opportunities for more effective staff usage during evacuation
2.    Identify opportunities for improved staff preparedness

Ms. Stevens is Principal at Stevens Research & Consulting, LLC focusing on emergency management, health security, and resilience. Previously, she was Director of Emergency Management at NYU Langone Medical Center where she was integral to the successful evacuation during Superstorm Sandy, the planned evacuation for Hurricane Irene and the H1N1 pandemic and was an emergency manager at the NYC Department of Health. She holds an MS in Threat and Response Management from the University of Chicago.
